postmillennialism seeks to promote a “gradual return to biblical norms of civil justice as a consequence of widespread gospel success through preaching, evangelism, missions, and Christian education.”84 Within theonomic postmillennialism the sociopolitical concerns of the older Puritan form of postmillennialism are integrated with the gradualism of the modern form. At the end of this millennial era, some postmillennialists believe God will allow a temporary surge of evil to demonstrate the necessity
